Weeks earlier the Bernhagen's had arranged to get some family photos taken together. We had decided we would meet at a gorgeous spot in Maleny... Just me, my camera and a quiet dirt road to capture all the love this family has for one another. And yes, if you have seen any images from this shoot, I am sure you are sitting there a little confused... these images are definitely not in Maleny, and no, there is definitely not a dirt road in sight!
The morning of this shoot, Mr Weather Man was predicting a severe thunderstorm with possible flash flooding, which on a side note I feel they predict ALL the time. But as it turns out, this time he was actually right. About 2 hrs out from when our session was due to begin, I could hear the loud thunder and see the giant grey clouds rolling over.
I quickly checked the radar to see how far away the storm was, got in touch with Tracey, and after a bit of discussion, we decided we would try and race the storm to the seaside, get the shoot done and (hopefully!) be back in our cars before the rain began...
We rocked up at Point Cartwright... no rain
We headed to the waterfront... no people
We started our session... still no rain
We had a good old chat as we wandered back to our cars...
AND THEN IT RAINED AND RAINED!
Sometimes the risk is worth the reward.
I love the memories we were able to create together during this session. The fun, the laughter, but most of all, it truly was a privilege to capture the beautiful connection these 4 souls have with one another.
Sometimes when you remove light, it gives your images more depth.
